So no matter what I do I seem to get dry hits pretty quick on my rdta. Not sure what the issue is. I have the vgod pro trick tank rdta 2. It says there is an auto feeding wick system and you cut the cotton at the glass. I have seen other methods on other rdtas like pulling the cotton trough and twisting at the bottom. Hi folks. Anyone have any luck poking holes in the packing around the factory coils to prevent burnt hits?
I broke out an old diy syringe to use but it's really no better than a sewing pin. I started by going in from the top and loosening that. It seems that the packing is layered or rolled around the coil, making it difficult to put holes in from the side.
I did get some side holes in using the hypo tho.
Problem I'm trying to fix is a vertical coil in my new Exceed tank. Keep getting burnt...

My Smok Alien is about 3 months old, maybe 14,000 puffs. In order to get it to fire, I have to press really hard on the lever, and a little sideways. It very difficult to get it to turn on (5 quick presses).

Anyone else had this problem and fixed it? I'm looking at those tiny torq screws and thinking about tearing it apart. The last Smok I did a tear down on was the R200 and it was a spring loaded contraption that I couldn't get back together.

I've started having trouble with acid reflux and it's probably caused by the nic but I'm going to mix some testers. 0 nic @ 50/50, 3% nic @ Max VG, 80/20 pg/vg @ 3% nic, and etc.... just to see if the pg, vg, or nic is the culprit. Does max pg even work?

I seem to recall that I didn't have the problem until I moved from MTL to DTL and from small tanks like my Aspire K1's and Aspire K3's to my current large tank, (Nano's), and mods.

So ive been wondering why my vape has been leaking for a month and half every time i fill it up. this morning i got fed up and took it to my local smoke shop where i bought it and found out that i havent been screwing the coils in straight so that they line up with the seams. the manager unscrewed the same coil and screwed it back in, i came home, closed the airholes gave it 5 minutes, opened and took a couple hits with absolutely no leakage lol. wondering if anyones ever messed up like this...

I am from Japan. Not many people are vaping here in Japan but I start to find some vapers at smoking areas in Tokyo. Vape is treated in Japan, I think, as same as smoking cigarettes because vaper and smoke look the same from non-smokers or smokers. So we vape at designated smoking areas even though we think they are different.

As I don't travel outside of Japan so often, I would like to know how vape or vapers are treated in other countries. Is the vaping allowed at the non-smoking areas?...

Although I've been vaping for a while I'm fairly new to rtas. I initially stumbled upon the OBS Crius V3 for my first rta but that wasn't too pleasant of an experience for me. I needed to stay below my desired minimum wattage, too many dry hits and soon realized that the Crius wasn't for me unless I would stay at 30W and up the nic level to 12 from a 6. Worst of all I can't even tootle puff with the Crius so it has it's place in the storage vape gear shoe box.

Last 2-3 days i having issues tasting the juice.

I know this seems counterintuitive. I did some math and one factor that I was not looking at originally was average length of inhale. I know when I do higher wattage (low ohm) builds - I tend to do shorter inhales.

I think this is because I am kind of aiming for a certain heat and throat hit - and I can get that faster at higher wattages. On lower wattages, I tend to do longer hits.

Hey,
I'm new to vaping and I recently bought Vaporesso Revenger and I had one big issue with it which is e-liquid leak

Every time I take a hit, the e-liquid gets on my mouth (which makes it taste horrible).. I made sure it's tight and that it's not full (half-way) and I'm using it at 35 ~ 40 watt

Also the e-liquid finishes way too fast, it's like 20 hits for 2 ~ 3ml which is so bad. I'm using Nasty juice cush man mango

Hey there, wondering if anyone knew if it were possible to design a menu screen for the rev gts because it has the option of having up to 12 displays on the mod at one time and as of right now rev has only 2 displays out.
The image files are bmp, so my thoughts are if i were to design a display that is the same dimensions as the ones on the device, i should be able to put it on the system. but i have no idea if itll break the device in all. if anyone has any ideas or thoughts or know this...

Have you guys heard about the new MTL tanks coming "hopefully" by the end of Oct designed by PBusardo and built by Innokin? They will be called Platform Zenith Tank (with drop-in coil heads) and Platform Zenith RTA. Given how picky Phil is I am kind of excited to see how this turns out. hey guys, about 5 months ago, I got a Smok vapepen 2.2 and all was fine, but about a month ago or so I started having problems. with 90% of my draws it burns my throat like crazy. I know that my Revenger has an option to take a hit on hard, medium or soft. Even though I have been vaping for quite some time I have never messed with these particular settings. What happens if I set my device on hard as opposed to medium or soft? Can these settings help with ramp up time? But if there isn't, I think that it's about time that we find a proper term for someone who tootle puffs and also cloud chases or uses higher wattage too. Tootle Puffers have a name and so do cloud chasers. Here is the "in between" that needs to be called something. I mean it doesn't necessarily "need" a name but if we can come up with a good one, that would be very nice, fun and maybe quite humorous too.

So I vape a lot. About 60ml a day maybe a bit more. I find that my coils are wrecked after a day. I build all of them and take pride it my builds. The wicks are fine a bit gunky but fluffy and retaining plenty of ejuice no burns or need to change it. I have tried different juice a and there are minor differences but overall it's the same! I set and break my coils in before I bring up the power level. Still the coils themselves are black after a day or less. The flavor is muted but still...

I saw on YT that some people call this a Tornado coil. I made it using a small ball point pen to get the cone shape.

Using 26g SS, and I totally didn't count the wraps, LOL.

Came in at .53 ohms.

This deck has three holes right below the coil. The holes go large to small going from left to right. So I put the big part of the coil over the big hole.

Then I wicked it so that air can only go over the coil.

Works nice!

Has anyone found a surface area calculator for various wire lengths and gages?

I'm trying to see how much extra surface area I will have if I switch from:

24g, 3mm ID, 6wraps, SS316L

To:

22g, 3mm ID, 5wraps, SS316L

I started researching the math, but when I read this I decided I'd like a calculator:

'For any 2d shape 'pulled out' into a cylinder/prism, the surface area is twice the area of the base, plus the outside of the base (circumference or perimeter) times the length.'
