Temperature control of coarse is designed to prevent the coil from getting hot enough to burn the e-liquid but an other consideration is how long the liquid is in contact with the hot coil.
No matter what the TC setting is the e-liquid is much less likely to burn if it is only in contact with the coil for a second vs 5 or 6 seconds for a deep draw.
